Kafe Mee Jawa, Solaris Dutamas

admin Avatar
I was craving for curry noodles after I had a really delicious, out of this world mee kari in the office.
My craving took us to Kafe Mee Jawa in Solaris Dutamas.
My obligatory photo of the menu.
Kafe Mee Jawa offers many variety of noodles.
Hmmmm….I’m spoilt  for choice.
Price is on high side due to its location.
So you will find that Fried Bihun here would burn your pocket at the price of RM9.90.
Some rice dishes if you don’t feel like eating noodles.
Their breakfast and tea time menu.
Please note that the food will be served in a smaller portion.
I wonder what are these equipments.

2 Half Boiled Eggs (RM2.20)
Done perfectly, just the way I like it  🙂
Sambal Kerang (RM2.50)
Instead of steamed cockles, I got the sambal version instead.
Tiny portion plus the sambal was too oily.
8 pieces of Nyonya Fried Chicken (RM13.00)
It was crispy on the outside but….
Pinkish inside.
It wasn’t fried properly.
We suspected that the chicken was not thawed fully.
Taken from the freezer and straight into the fryer.
What a waste.
Instead of satisfying my crave for mee kari, I opted to have their signature dish, the Mee Jawa.

Mee Jawa (RM10.90)
It was served in a huge plate.
There were the yellow noodles, sambal sotong, some vegetables, cracker, half portion of hard boiled egg.
The gravy is thick but I’m not sure if it’s due to flour or potatoes.
Overall, it was just average.

Tom Yam Seafood with Rice (RM13.90)
The clams were not fresh.
After the pink fried chickens, we decided to leave all clams aside.
The Tom Yam was a little salty.

The Mee Jawa at Casa Tropicana has terrible service/PR. The food there is not bad but the portions are small and they will force the customer to buy more before they deliver. Altogether a very bad experience. Who are these people? Why do they operate a food outlet if they do not have an affinity to public relations? Every word that came out of the woman's mouth (Catherine) at Mee Jawa Casa Tropicana was offensive and rude!

I have never been to their branch in Casa Tropicana, so I'm afraid I can't make any comments. I have no problem with the service in Solaris but the quality of food there was a letdown.

Word of mouth is very powerful, so in future that Catherine lady may want to think twice before saying something.

  3. […] Kafe Mee Jawa, which is located just across the road has the similiar rock wall. I wonder if they are under the same management. […]
